A canal-side apartment in a former warehouse. The brief was quiet: a place to come back to. We answered with plaster, pale timber and very few objects.

Arched plaster opening with a single plinth

Plaster

One continuous surface

Walls, reveals and the new arch are finished in the same tinted plaster, so the eye moves across the room without interruption.

The reading corner in the evening; the dining table, made to the length of the room.

Objects

Very few, chosen slowly

Almost nothing was bought new. The furniture came over eighteen months, one piece at a time, and the walls are still waiting for the right painting.
